The Environmental Management System (EMS) adopted by TCTS is based on the International Standard covering environmental management and is intended to provide TCTS with the elements of an effective EMS to help achieve environmental and economic goals. The aim of the standard is to reduce the environmental impact of a business and to decrease the pollution (air, water, noise, etc) and waste produced, and minimize the negative impact of business operations on the environment. The EMS provides assurance to management that it is in control of organizational processes and activities having an impact on the environment and employees that they are working for an environmentally responsible organization. Further, the EMS provides greater focus to organizational initiatives to meet external objectives such as community and societal concerns, as well as address regulatory requirements.

As a part of meeting its environmental obligations, TCTS performs risk assessments to determine the impact of its operations on its immediate surroundings and environment. Mitigating the impact of these risks enables TCTS to provide a cleaner and healthier work environment to its employees and also proactively address general societal concerns emanating from its surrounding areas. It also enables TCTS align towards the overall Tata Group’s initiatives on climate change.
